1973 massacre victims to get compensation
Victims of the 1973 massacre will get state compensation after the Cabinet yesterday approved the budget to support their daily expenses.
The Human and Social Development Ministry made the proposal to the Cabinet in 2013, although it had not been acted on.
Fifty seven people are entitled to claim the assistance, with the monthly allowance worth Bt3,000.
The October 14 massacre saw the rise of students against dictatorship at that time. It resulted in a number of deaths and casualties, while many students fled the city and joined communists in the jungle due to divided ideologies.
