Security officers “visit” to ex-MP was not attitude adjustment, says Army chief

Security officers “visit” to ex-MP was not attitude adjustment, says Army chief

A visit by security officers to a former Pheu Thai MP had nothing to do with the Prime Minister’s “four questions” and was not “attitude adjustment”, Army Chief General Chalermchai Sitthisart said on Wednesday.

Gen Chalermchai said Yutthapong Jarassathian was among writers of the book, “Getting rid of Rice Mortgage, Killing the Farmers”, which addressed the plight of Thai farmers after the Yingluck government’s scheme was abolished by the junta government.
He said officers invited him to “talk”, and it had nothing to do with the premier’s questions that mention “bad” politicians.
The general said Yutthapong is a knowledgeable person on the economy so the junta wanted to talk with him about that. He said it was not a so-called attitude adjustment, which was prevalent when the junta first took office in 2014.
“Please don’t say that it’s an attitude adjustment. It sounds harsh. Let’s say it’s a talk that we all wish to get the best for our country,” said the Army chief.
