Four arrested in Nakhon Sawan in alleged bid to smuggle 1 million meth pills

Narcotics suppression police foiled an attempt by four men who were allegedly attempting to smuggle 1 million methamphetamine pills from Chiang Rai’s border to Pathum Thani in two pickup trucks.

Narcotics Suppression Bureau officers followed the two pickup trucks and alerted other officers to arrest the suspects when they reached Nakhon Sawan at 7.30pm on Tuesday night,
The four suspects were identified as Chalermsak Thanomrungruang, 20, Settha Sianyamanee, 22, Shin (not his real name), 19, and Thiranai Priyasakul, 20.
The first pickup was stopped and searched in front of a Siam Commercial Bank branch on Phaholyothin road in Tambon Paknam Pho in Nakhon Sawan’s Mueang district.
The second pickup was stopped and searched at a Bangchak petrol station in Tambon Yanmatsee in Nakhon Sawan’s Phayuhakhiri district.
Police found the meth pills hidden inside the vehicles.
The men told police that they were paid to take the drugs from the border in Chiang Rai’s Mae Fah Luang district to an unnamed recipient at a agricultural market in Pathum Thani’s Klong Luang district.
