NACC set to begin trials against officials in alleged temple frauds

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is preparing to start trials against officials allegedly involved in embezzling the state budget for temples.

NACC secretary general Sansern Poljieak said on Wednesday that the NACC would consider setting up subcommittees to look into the complaints against these officials at its meeting on Thursday.
Police have already forwarded 12 cases against the suspected officials to the NACC, he said.
Sansern said that apart from these cases, the NACC had also been investigating 60 other complaints about similar offences by the same group of high-level officials.
