Eight suspects nabbed as yaba pills, ‘ice’ and ketamine seized in four raids

Eight suspects were arrested by police in four separate drug busts recently.

Narcotics Suppression Division 4 chief Pol Maj-Gen Dusadee Chusangkit on Friday announced that 4.2 million yaba pills, 8.2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine or “ice”, six kilograms of ketamine powder and 62 bottles of ketamine liquid were seized in the raids.
The assets of the suspects, including properties, bank accounts and gold ornaments worth Bt50 million were also impounded, he said.
In the first case, Chacherngsao duo Kawipat Rodnut and Chaithawat Atthawit, both 19, were nabbed along with 1.54 million yaba pills, a Honda Jazz sedan and three guns, at a house in Bangkok's Klong Sam Wa district on Wednesday morning.
The duo was followed by police who staked out a spot on Phaholyothin Road in Ayutthaya's Wang Noi district at 4am waiting for a drug delivery involving the pair's car.
Police say Kawipat confessed that they had been hired to pick up a large amount of yaba pills at a garbage pile in an alley and collected the drugs on June 20. They were to be stored at their home before being distributed.
The duo was charged with having illicit drugs in their possession with intent to sell, while Kawipat faced additional charges of having a gun in his possession and carrying it to a public place without sound reason.
In the second case earlier this week, suspects Dissapan Cheewa-osot, 25, and Issara Rojsukij, 20, were arrested along with 1.3 million yaba pills and 8.2 kilograms of “ice” and six kilograms of ketamine, 62 bottles of ketamine liquid, a pistol and bullets at a Sathorn-Ratchapruek condominium.
They were charged with having narcotics in their possession with intent to sell, and having a gun and ammunition in their possession without permission.
In the third case, three suspects – Nithikorn Chotechoung, 23, Nittaya Phosri, 25, and a 17-year-old boy – were arrested along with 1.2 million yaba pills.
The teenager was arrested earlier this week along with the drugs at a house in Ayutthaya's Wang Noi district before he implicated Nithikorn and Nittaya who were nabbed at a Pathum Thani resort.
In the fourth case, suspect Sonthaya Yatsamer, 26, was arrested this week along with 400,000 yaba pills at a Chon Buri condominium. A subsequent search at his room in another nearby building yielded a further 2,200 yaba pills and 5.38 grams of 'ice'.
