Alleged operator of underage prostitution gang arrested

Alleged operator of underage prostitution gang arrested

A woman wanted by police for allegedly using Facebook to lure underage girls into prostitution in Nakhon Ratchasima and Bangkok was arrested in Chon Buri's Sri Racha district.

Thipaporn “Madam Pu” Maneenoi insisted all the girls were willing workers - a claim countered by the testimonies of girls who worked for her, including her teenage daughter.
Anti-Human Trafficking Division (AHTD) chief Pol Maj-General Kornchai Klayklueng told the media on Tuesday that police had given the 36-year-old a chance to surrender and they arrested her when she did not.
On Wednesday, Thipaporn - who was allegedly in charge of account books for the prostitution ring and booked hotel rooms for girls to have sex with customers - will be brought to apply for a court order for her first detention period.
She will be charged with human trafficking to benefit from prostitution, procuring underage girls for the sex trade and taking minors from their parents.
Her arrest followed a raid last Tuesday on the V2 Entertainment massage parlour in Bangkok’s Wang Thong Lang district, where police arrested Thipaporn's alleged male accomplice.
At the same time, another police team nabbed three unnamed local politicians in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Pak Chong district for allegedly buying sex from underage girls procured by the gang.
On the same day, another police team arrested Pak Chong Resort caretaker Winai Jaengploy, 56, on the same charge.
The five men insisted they are innocence.
The issuance of arrest warrants for the six suspects and the raids stemmed from an AHTD operation in May that resulted in the arrest of “Amara Bee”, a 15-year-old girl who received commissions for procuring underage girls for the gang.
During the operation police found a 14-year-old runaway girl and five other underage girls working for the gang in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Muang district.
