PM to preside over NRSA handing-over ceremony

PM to preside over NRSA handing-over ceremony

The National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) plans to hand over its work to the government at a ceremony on July 31 presided over by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

NRSA spokeperson Kamnoon Sidhisamarn said they had been informed by the PM’s secretary that Prayut would preside over the ceremony and personally thank the NRSA members.
The NRSA was set up by the junta following the dissolution of the National Reform Council, which developed reform master plans.
Several of the plans, with more than 140 reform proposals, have been turned into new laws, and 27 critical agendas have been set before the NRSA leaves office, following the promulgation of the new charter.
Some NRSA members have tendered their resignations already, as they wanted to prepare for the coming election. The new charter requires them to leave office within 90 days if they wish to contest in an election, and the deadline is July 4.
So far, 22 members have tendered their resignations.
