‘Appropriate’ events allowed during month of Royal cremation ceremonies

‘Appropriate’ events allowed during month of Royal cremation ceremonies

Events will not be banned during the month of October, which will see the Royal cremation ceremonies for HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said yesterday that the government would allow people and private firms to host events.
“But organisers must consider whether their events are appropriate,” he said.
The Royal cremation ceremonies are scheduled to run from October 25 to 29. October 26 – the day of the actual cremation – will be a national holiday.
The royal ceremonies have much significance for Thai people because they want to bid a proper and grand farewell to their much-beloved paternal figure.
The late King had reigned Thailand for seven decades until he died on October 13 last year.
