Sahapat Group and Nation University are now formal partners on the educational front.

Under their agreement signed yesterday, they will work together in boosting educational services at Nation University with students exposed more to the real work environment.
“We will also bring experts to the class so that they can share their valuable experiences with students,” said Boonchai Chokwatana, chairman of Saha Pathanapibul.

He said his firm had provided educational assistance to Nation University, which was previously known as Yonok University, for more than 20 years.
Nation Multimedia Group (NMG) acquired Yonok University about five years ago and renamed it.
“The key reason we have participated in this partnership to further develop Nation University is that we are quite familiar with NMG, and will be able to work together with the group,” he said.
Saha Group also has a small stake in NMG, he said.
Asst Prof Pong-In Rak-ariyatham, president of Nation University, described Sahapat’s contributions as “precious”.
The collaboration with Sahapat would equip Nation University’s students with knowledge and abilities needed to keep pace with new trends, he said.
“Sahapat has solid business experience,” he said.
“In the future, we may introduce new courses.”

Nation University offers five faculties in communication arts, business administration, health sciences, social sciences and humanities, and information technology.
It holds classes at an upcountry campus in Lampang province and a city campus in Bangkok’s Bang Na district.
Boonchai said that under the partnership, Nation University would help develop a new society for the new generation, and their education will be taken care of and shared by business people with strong work experience.
“We would like Nation University to become a good educational venue where everybody wants to study. We will screen graduates to get jobs and work at Saha Group,” he said.
“My father, Khun Tiam Chokwattana, founder of Saha Group, had not received any high education during his life, so they wanted the group to provide support and help in the development of education,” he added.
Saha Group is Thailand’s leading manufacturing and trading conglomerate, with more than 200 companies and over 100,000 employees.
