Eight riverside homes demolished in Bangkok to make way for development

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) workers on Thursday tore down eight riverside homes located outside the Wat Chatkaew Chongkolnee community's flood-barrier embankment coverage in Bangkok's Bang Phlad district.

The residents who had lived there for decades reportedly cooperated with city officials to move out of the houses. The demolition will be complete in two days.
The wooden homes in Soi Charan Sanidwong 94 were the third batch that the BMA demolished to make way for the “Chao Phraya for All” riverbank development's landscaping and construction of a dam. The Kieo Khai Ka community and the Kiak Kai community were the other areas demolished.
