Man arrested with 205kg of marijuana in Sakhon Nakhon

A man was arrested by Sakon Nakhon highway police early Thursday for allegedly trying to smuggle 205 kilograms of compressed marijuana from Nakhon Phanom to Nakhon Ratchasima.

The suspect was identified as Anucha Thienkhetkij, 25, a resident of Nakhon Ratchasima.
His pickup was stopped near an intersection on the Nakhon Ratchasima bypass road at 4am and the drugs were found hidden in the middle of a pile of bags of gravel.
Anucha saud he did not know he was transporting drugs and that he had been hired for Bt10,000 to deliver bags of gravel from Nakhon Phanom to Nakhon Ratchasima by a person he knew only by the nickname “Khoon”.
He said Khoon had sent two people to load his pickup at 1am and he had driven the vehicle from a resort in Nakhon Phanom destined for Nakhon Ratchasima’s Si Khiew district.
Pol Lt-Colonel Supat Chotekraisit, a Sakhon Nakhon highway police officer, said the drugs could fetch Bt2 million in the Central or Southern region.
