More than 1,000 mostly green and hawksbill turtles were released into the Gulf of Thailand. 
This year&rsquo;s event commemorated His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn&rsquo;s birthday on Friday (July 28).

Schoolchildren took part in an annual turtle release at the Royal Thai Navy Sea Turtle Conservation Centre at Sattahip in Chonburi on Wednesday.
