Army helicopters fly in to help flood relief efforts

The Royal Thai Army (RTA) will dispatch helicopters for flood-relief operations in six hard-hit provinces.

RTA deputy spokesman Colonel Sirichan Nga-thong said on Sunday that RTA chief General Chalermchai Sittisart ordered that the military helicopters support the relief and rescue operations in Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Buri Ram and Phetchabun.
She said the move was on top of the ongoing operations by the RTA to help evacuate flood victims and move their belongings to higher ground.
RTA teams have also delivered food and relief items to flood areas.
