Cheers online as police pickup clamped at Udon airport

A security officer at Udon Thani International Airport has drawn cheers online after clamping a wheel-lock on an illegally parked police pickup truck.

The photo of him doing so was posted on an Udon Thani community page on Facebook and has been widely shared and praised.
Airport director Witthawas Pakdeesanti said on Friday the incident occurred on July 28.
He said the police truck was left parked outside the passenger terminal beyond the 30-minute limit. The area is reserved for vehicles dropping off and picking up travellers, he said, and police and state vehicles are not exempt from the time limit.
Witthawas said the security officer was simply doing his duty. He had first paged the police officer on the public-address system to move the vehicle, but no one appeared, so the lock was applied.
