Chinese men arrested with Bt10 million smuggled goods

Police from the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) and troops arrested three Chinese men at a house in Bangkok’s Minburi district and seized two trucks with smuggled goods worth Bt10 million.

Acting on a tip-off, CSD officers and troops from the Prachi Buri-based Second Infantry Division raided a house in the Nirand Avenue housing estate on Ramkhamhaeng Soi 174 at 10pm on Friday night.
They found three Chinese men packing goods for shipping. They failed to produce import documents for the goods and their own entry visa.
They were charged with unlawful entry into the Kingdom and smuggling goods.
Neighbours alerted police that the Chinese men often carried large packages into the house and suspected they might be involved in certain illegal businesses.
After interrogation, police found that they also rented a townhouse in Bua Kao housing estate in Min Buri which served as a warehouse for keeping their smuggled goods.
The seized goods, which included IT devices, bags and shoes, were transported to the CSD in two trucks.
