Four-hour wait in Don Mueang immigration queue

Four-hour wait in Don Mueang immigration queue

Immigration officials are investigating how passengers had to wait for more than four hours at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok.

One passenger says she took four hours and 20 minutes to clear immigration on Friday night, and noted than many people were getting weak and suffering because of the poor ventilation.
People in the queue were posting on social media that there were only three immigration staff on duty, and that there appeared to be more than 2,000 people waiting to be processed.
A woman fainted at 4am while still waiting, and one of the waiting passengers noted in a post that more Immigration staff appeared than they had seen all night to provide her with medical attention and take her away.
Don Mueang Immigration officers have said that the airport didn’t advise them of the flights that were arriving. They also said that the usual 45-second processing time for each passenger was now longer because of increased security measures.
