Noisy Nonthaburi hotel actually a brothel
The hotel was owned by Prasert “Ko Lak” Sukkhee, 58, who had been wanted for offences related to separate cases, including human trafficking and pandering to minors at Bangkok’s Nataree Entertainment massage parlour which was busted last year.
A special task force under the Interior Ministry’s Department of Provincial Administration (DPA) had joined with local officials to inspect Srisuk Hotel on Pracharat Road in Nonthaburi’s Muang district at 10.30pm on Saturday. They were responding to public complaints of the hotel having many night visitors that made noise until dawn.
When officials raided the premises, they found sex workers and their customers were using nine out of the 10 rooms.
Ronnarong Thipsiri, head of the DPA’s investigation and suppression division, said officials rounded up 22 sex workers aged over 20. They included six Thais, one Cambodian and 10 Burmese, while the rest were still being processed to determine their nationality.
Officials also took into custody a suspected “madam” in her 40s, and several aides who face charges of procuring women for prostitution. The hotel licence would also be revoked due to illegal activities including prostitution and drug abuse found in the premises, said Ronnarong.
He said the hotel was under the name of Prasert, who allegedly rented it out to the prostitution ring’s leader. Ronnarong cited the suspect’s initial testimony that the group had rented the hotel to run a brothel for the past five or six years.
Officials also found two rental contracts, one signed by Prasert in 2015 and the other signed by his representative in 2016.
The officials have passed on the suspect along with the rounded up sex workers to police investigators at Muang Nonthaburi precinct for further actions.
