Teen arrested in Klong Toey, 175kg of marijuana seized

Metropolitan police have arrested a man who claimed to store and distribute marijuana for a major ringleader and seized 175 kilogrammes of the drug from a house in Bangkok’s Klong Toey community.

Metropolitan Police Bureau Commissioner Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn held a press conference on Tuesday at Rua Police Station to announce the arrest of James (not his real name), 18.

Sanit said the suspect was arrested on Monday following a tip-off that he stored marijuana at his house for distribution.

Police searched his house and found 175kgs of marijuana.

Sanit quoted Sanit as saying he was hired for Bt20,000 to keep the drug and to distribute it to clients for Bt200 per kilogram.
