Four indicted on murder charges for Khon Kaen dismemberment

Four indicted on murder charges for Khon Kaen dismemberment

All five suspects in a high-profile dismemberment murder case were indicted for trial on Tuesday.

Priyanuch Nonwangchai, Kawita Rachada, Apiwan Satayabundit and Wasin Namprom were arraigned on charges of pre-meditated murder; colluding to destroy, move and hide their victim’s body; jointly detaining their victim; joint theft; and jointly carrying arms in public places.
Jidarat Promkhun has been charged only with alleged theft.
Jidarat was the first suspect to be arrested in relation to the gruesome murder of 22-year-old Warissara Klingjui, because she allegedly sold the victim’s mobile phone. Warissara’s body was found, cut into two pieces, in Khon Kaen province in July.
Police then traced all the other suspects, and Jidarat was the only one who was apparently not present at the murder scene.
Apiwan is the only suspect to face an additional charge of drug abuse because she tested positive to a substance upon arrest.
“We have already informed the Khon Kaen Provincial Court of the prosecution orders,” Khon Kaen’s chief prosecutor, Wichet Saenkham, said yesterday.
He said the prosecution orders were based on evidence and a review of the 706-page investigation report.
According to Wichet, all five defendants will probably be brought to court today to provide their statements. Their trials will start within the next 15 days.
