Seven-car pile-up in Huai Khwang tunnel
Seven cars collided inside the Huai Khwang tunnel at 4.49am on Sunday after the driver of the first car suddenly braked on seeing floodwaters.
Huai Kwang Police Station inspector Pol Major Pongsathorn Wongthammanan said other vehicles could not brake in time, leading to multiple collisions.
Following the pile-up, police temporarily closed the tunnel to traffic and pumps were used to drain the floodwaters. The tunnel re-opened at 9.30am.
The flood happened because of heavy downpours on Saturday night.
