Authorities confiscate 2m methamphetamine tablets in the North

Authorities have confiscated more than 2 million methamphetamine tablets and 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from six drug suspects in the North between last Monday and Thursday.

Provincial Police Region 5 commissioner Pol Lt-General Poonsap Prasertsak, Chiang Mai Governor Pawin Chamniprasart and Kittichai Loungkumjon, who heads the Office of Narcotics Control Board’s (ONCB) Region 5, announced the seizures and the arrests of the suspects on Sunday. 
All six suspects are men who live in the North. 
According to the Provincial Police Region 5, which covers the country’s northern provinces, authorities arrested 28,019 drug suspects between October 1 last year and August 25 this year. 
During that period, 52,718,960 methamphetamine tablets, 421.31kg of crystal methamphetamine, 213.55kg of heroin, 11.7kg of marijuana and 203.76kg of opium were confiscated.
