‘New Taipei City’ keen to welcome Thai tourists

Visits to Taiwan by Thai travellers jumped by 82 per cent in the year after visa requirements were waived, and now there’s another reason for them to go – the establishment of New Taipei City.

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau has partnered with EVA Air to offer a three-day, two-night tour package covering flights and accommodation with prices starting at Bt11,900.
The first 5,000 customers will also receive gifts worth over Bt25,000.
“New Taipei City is rich in natural tourist attractions and has a variety of festivals and historic old markets,” said Kuo-Jun Chen, the new city’s commissioner of tourism and travel. “Each of its tourist sites reflects the intriguing culture and history that attracts tourists from all over the world.
“To prepare for the constantly increasing number of Thai tourists, New Taipei City participated in the Southeast Asia Tourism Expo to learn about expectations from tourists in this region, trained tour guides, and devised itineraries specially focused on Thai tourists. There is also Thai language on our website to promote new places to visit in New Taipei City.”
