Boy drowns in Udon Thani village pond
A boy drowned in a village pond in Udon Thani’s Ban Pue village on Sunday, police said.
The body of Chaturawit Inplaeng, 10, was found in the large pond in Moo 5 village at tambon Ban Pue, Ban Pue village, at dusk.
His father, Mana Inplaeng, 37, went looking for him after he failed to return home.
He found Mana’s sandals on the banks of the pond so he sought help from villagers to search for the body.
Chaturawit’s friends told police they swam in the pond and Chaturawit drowned.
They said they were frightened and went home without informing anyone for fear of being reprimanded.
