Troops and Interior Ministry officials arrested a 16-year-old teenager in Loei’s Muang district early Monday morning for alleged drug dealing.

Acting on a tip-off that a teenager was selling drugs to students and workers in downtown Loei, Assawin Hinthao, assistant chief of Muang district, led troops and district officials to stake out Wat Nong Waeng at about 1.30am.

Officials spotted a motorcyclist riding around the area so they told him to stop and searched him.

Officials found 400 meth pills on him and then searched his house, where they found 3,600 more.

The teenager alleged he bought the drugs from Mitr Arasa, 49.

Officials arrested Mita, who denied knowing the teenager.

But officials found phone records linking Mitr and the teen, with Mitra detained for pending further investigations.
