Dual raids on football gambling in Lamphun end in 15 arrests
Soldiers and police on Tuesday night raided two private residences in Muang Lamphun where illegal betting on football was underway.
Four unidentified male punters were arrested at a house in Tambon Nai Muang along with three people running the gambling – Natthida Kalanang, 42, Pratheep Khanitwaranon, 55, and Wijitra Karaboon, age unknown.
The officials seized Bt10,910 in cash, 12 betting stubs, 10 desktop computers and two printers.
Six more men, again unidentified, were found placing illegal bets at a house in Tambon Ban Klang.
Hiran Pansurin, 43, and Chaiyapop Kanthawongwan, 20, were charged with running the operation.
Seized on the premises were Bt35,750 in cash, 55 betting stubs, 11 desktop computers and two printers.
The suspects were taken to Nikhom Usahakham Police Station to be charged with illegal gambling.
