Seven arrested over man’s stabbing man in Nakhon Phanom

Police on Friday arrested seven teenagers a day after they allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old man to death in a street brawl.

Police said a group of nine teenagers took part in the killing of NoppornChomchuen, a resident of Nakhon Phanom’s Mueang district at 1.45am on Thursday.
So far, police arrested seven of the suspects and are still hunting for the two others, said Mueang Nakhon Phanom police chief Pol Colonel Kiarttiphum Suwantrai.
One of the arrested suspects is 15 years old, one 17, two 18 and one 19. Two other arrested suspects were identified as Wasin Sriboonruang, 23 and Chamroenthong Phaphanthang, 20.
The teenagers admitted that they killed the man following a brawl. They said they were riding their motorcycles home after attending an annual fair and drinking, but they were teased by a group associated with Nopporn.
They said the Nopporn’s group was outnumbered and fled, but they killed Nopporn because he failed to get away.
The station chief said the teenagers were about to burn the body of their victim when people came out to take a look at them, prompting them to cancel that plan and flee.
