Free shuttles from 21 areas to Royal Cremation

SHUTTLE-BUS services began yesterday for people heading to Sanam Luang, the ceremonial grounds for the Royal Cremation of HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej

The services will run from 5am to midnight until October 31, except for on Thursday, the day of the cremation, when the free shuttles will be available around the clock.
“Our buses will leave every 10 minutes on average but if there are many waiting passengers, we may increase the frequency,” Wuttipong Champakaew, a senior official from the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority that arranges shuttle services, said yesterday.
Some pickup spots in Bangkok’s suburbs also have parking areas for people who arrive in their own vehicles.
People can get on the shuttles at 21 designated areas, including Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Mega Bangna shopping complex, Central Rama II shopping complex, Don Mueang Airport, Future Park Rangsit, Victory Monument, Royal Thai Police Sports Club, the Thupatemi Royal Thai Air Force Sports Stadium, New Southern Bus Terminal, Central Westgate, Muang Thong Thani, Suvarnabhumi Airport, Airport Rail Link – Makkasan station and the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex.
