Airport Rail Link’s free services prove popular
Members of the public crowded the platforms of Airport Rail Link stations in Bangkok, as the agency is providing free rides from Wednesday until Friday during the Royal Cremation ceremonies for HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The free service on Thursday, October 26 - which is when the Royal Cremation for the beloved monarch will take place in Sanam Luang and mourners will be allowed to present sandalwood flowers at nine to-scale replicas of the Royal Crematorium and designated flower pavilions across the city - will run until 2am the following day.
Airport Rail Link said that, to deal with increased demand over the period, it had scheduled enough services to ensure a train would reach its stations every 10 minutes.
