Three refugees killed, five injured as tree falls on truck

A roadside tree fell on a passing farm truck, killing three Myanmar refugees and injuring five others at a border camp on Wednesday morning in Tak province.

Prateep Phothiam, chief of Umphang district, said the accident happened on a Thai-Myanmar border road in Moo 9 village in Tambon Mae Chan.

The truck was carrying eight refugees from Ban Nupho camp.

The injured were rushed to the Umphang district hospital. Two of the refugees were severely injured.
