Tesco Lotus Expo ’17 promotes year-end spending

Tesco Lotus has joined hands with leading product manufacturers, local farmers, small businesses and community groups to host the 1st ever Tesco Lotus Expo – one of the largest trade exhibitions and lifestyle events of the year.

With some 500 booths, visitors have the opportunity to discover products from farmers, SMEs and OTOP operators. The Tesco brand of Pracha Rath jasmine rice, sourced directly from rice farmers in four provinces in northeastern Thailand, will also be launched at the fair at the promotional price of Bt149 per 5-kilogram bag. The rice is also available at all Tesco Lotus hypermarkets nationwide from November 9, 2017 onwards, at Bt189.
To facilitate the tax invoice issuing process at the Expo, Tesco Lotus will provide a dedicated area with e-card readers to issue full-form tax invoices for visitors who purchase goods from any Tesco Lotus booth within the Expo, to benefit from the government’s shopping tax rebate scheme
John Christie, chief executive officer, Tesco Lotus, said the company is committed to quality goods at affordable prices “alongside doing good things for our local communities through the support we provide for farmers and small business operators”.
The Expo “serves as a fantastic opportunity for our suppliers, farmers, SME and OTOP operators, and community groups to showcase and sell their products to visitors … who will benefit from being able to purchase a large variety of high-quality products at great prices and enjoy fun activities for everyone in the family.”
Banjongjitt Angsusingh, deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, said the fair “will help to provide access to good quality products at affordable prices for consumers, and also to stimulate the local economy by generating sales income for product manufacturers, OTOP and SME operators.”
The Expo, held at IMPACT’s Challenger Hall from November 9-12.
