Grand Chamberlain stripped of royal decorations
GRAND Chamberlain Distorn Vajarodaya was dismissed due to “evil behaviour” and his royal decorations would be returned, according to an announcement in the Royal Gazette.
The dismissal order was issued by the Bureau of Royal Household on November 6. According to the order, Distorn, who was also chairman of the Rajanukrah Foundation, had abused his authority by issuing a false document certifying that there was a donation of Bt25 million which was, in fact, a discount on a normal purchase order and there was no genuine donation to the foundation.
Later, Distorn submitted the document to the social development and human security ministry requesting a royal decoration on behalf of an outsider.
He was also said to be involved in other wrongdoings, including adultery and evasion of import duties on a vehicle.
As one of the grand chamberlains, Distorn was responsible for managing the affairs of the Royal Household.
