Flash floods hit Phatthalung

Flash floods hit Phatthalung

Overnight rain resulted in mountain runoff overwhelming an irrigation dyke in Phatthalung’s Sri Bangphot district, causing flash floods on Wednesday morning.

Officials said rains on Tuesday night caused runoff from Khao Pu-Khao Ya National Park to surge in Tha Nae dyke in Tambon Khao Ya.
The deluge prompted irrigation officials to open the dyke’s sluice, releasing water that flooded Moo 7 and Moo 9 villages in Tambon Chamuang and Moo 11 village in Tambon Khuan Khanoon.
Floodwaters were about 30 to 40 centimetres high.
