Tourists check out rare water onion blooms in Phang Nga

Tourists have begun flocking to see the blooming of water onion flowers in Phang Nga’s Kura Buri district.

On Friday, many tourists visited Ta Luen Canal in Moo 7 village in Tambon Kura Buri in Kura Buri district to view and take photos of the rare water onions in bloom, villagers said.
The village has been promoted by the provincial administration as an ecotourism site where tourists can take in the sight of water flowers that bloom only in winter.
The rare water onions (Crinum thaianum) are found only in Kura Buri district and in Ranong's Suk Samran and Kapur districts.
Tourists can call the Phang Nga tourism office at 0-7648-1900-2 for more information about how to visit the canal and enjoy the flowers.
