Panasonic Beauty Aims to unveil powerful ‘smart’ hairdryer
Panasonic Beauty will enter the personal-care market at year-end with a powerful hairdryer featuring a “smart heat protection sensor” and several other products.
Panasonic AP Sales (Thailand) managing director Hiroyuki Kitano said the market for hairstyling products was expanding by about 10 per cent a year.
“As people are more concerned about health and tend to have hasty lifestyle, they look for high-speed drying that can protect their hair at the same time,” he said.
Panasonic Beauty’s 2500 Watt dryer, named for its power output, offers strong airflow for faster drying, thus saving time for hairstyling.
It also has an AHP (Advanced Heat Protection Sensor) that automatically detects and controls temperature to protect hair from overheating and gently dry the hair and scalp.
Another feature is called “Ionity” conditioning, which provides additional moisture to maintain smooth, shiny hair and suppress static electricity.
The overall hair-appliance market in Thailand is expected to reach Bt1.040 million in value this year. Dryers will account for 47 per cent of that amount and hairstyling appliances 53 per cent.
Panasonic Beauty is expecting sales of its products to increase by 10 per cent, as targeted.
