King sends ‘thank-you’ card to Royal Cremation helpers

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has given a “thank-you” card to volunteers and others involved in the Royal Cremation ceremonies for his father, HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The card contains his own drawings of the late King waving and depicts his activities during his 70 years on the throne, as well as the volunteers’ work before and during the cremation period.
Under the drawing, the King wrote: “HM will remain in our hearts forever.”
Another drawing of the late King showed him working with a drop of sweat on the tip of his nose.
In the card signed by the King and dated November 25, the King drew pictures of volunteers who had helped at the Royal funeral, including cooks, medics, garbage collectors, traffic controllers and water servers.

The King also wrote that he wanted to thank everyone for their involvement in the Royal funeral of King Rama IX and for making their best efforts to ensure the greatest honour for the late King.
“I wish to thank deeply all people for their work at the Royal funeral, volunteers as well as those who were not volunteers. My thanks are also for those who participated in the ceremony, who showed up at the Royal processions and at the replicas of the Royal Crematorium both in the country and overseas,” he wrote.
