Winter’s first frost caps Doi Inthanon

The first frost of the season blossomed early Tuesday atop Doi Inthanon as the mercury fell to 5 degrees Celsius.

Pilot Officer Jessada Itthisathakul, deputy chief of the radar station on top of Thailand’s highest mountain, said he noticed at 4.30am that the temperature had reached 5C and went outside to see that the dew had frozen.
He took photos for a report to his agency.
Jessada said the temperature had been very cold on the mountain for three consecutive days.
