Two Satun villages hit by runoff
The flooding situation in Satun worsened on Thursday morning as two villages were hit by mountain runoff after heavy rains continued for hours.
Officials said Ban Wang Na village in Tambon Namphud of Satun’s La-ngu district was hit by runoff that flooded a main road and isolated the village.
Villagers had to use kayaks normally used in the tourism industry to travel out of the village.
Ban Than Pliew village in Thung Wa district was also hit buy runoff, which quickly inundated a main road.
In Ban Tone village in Tambon Thung Nui of Khuan Ka Long district, floodwaters damaged a part of the main road, leaving only one of two lanes passable.
