Schoolboy honoured for returning wallet to tourist

A schoolboy was honoured by the Phuket governor on Friday for returning a lost wallet to its owner.

Phuket governor Norapat Plodthong handed the certificate to 11-year-old Pirapol Kwangchan, 11, at a ceremony in the provincial hall, in which Pirapol was deemed a “goos man”.
The Grade 5 student at Ban Bang Niew Municipality School in Mueang district, found the wallet in a car park used by visitors to the weekly market at the Phuket Country Home housing estate on November 27.
He later gave the wallet, containing Bt920 cash, some credit cards and an ID card, to police who managed to locate the owner, Kethryn Elizabeth Dillman, 30, and returned it to her.
The governor said although the amount of the found cash was not substantial, the boy the award for setting a good example to society.
