Prayut and Cabinet make merit for late King

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha led a contingent of Cabinet members and their spouses at an alms offering to 910 monks on Tuesday morning at Bangkok’s Royal Plaza on the occasion of HM the late King Rama IX’s birthday and Father’s Day.

Similar merit-making ceremonies for King Rama IX were held at city halls and key sites across Thailand.

Down South, Surat Thani governor Wichawuth Jinto led 5,000 members of the public to offer food to 89 monks at the road near Tapi River near the municipal office at 7am. 
Up North, Chiang Mai governor Pawin Chamniprasert led hundreds of officials and public members to offer alms to 91 monks and novices at city hall.
