Chumphon’s main intersection hit by flash floods
The Pathom Phon intersection in Chumphon was hit by a flash flood early on Wednesday.
By 2am, the Phetkasem road at the Pathon Phon intersection, which is the main gateway to Chumphon's downtown, was under 30-60 centimetres of water, officials said.
The section of the road was under water for about one kilometre.
Traffic police advised motorists to use a bypass, as several cars had engine breakdowns while trying to drive through the water.
Chumphon highway officials and traffic police set up roadblocks on the southern and northern sides of the intersection to advise motorists how to use alternative roads to avoid the flooded road.
