Phuket police seize Bt2m in drugs in two raids

Thalang district police have arrested two Phuket men with 4,000 methamphetamine pills, while Chalong police were detained a man from Surat Thani with 3,474 methamphetamine pills along with 109 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Seizures in the two cases have an estimated street value of more than Bt2 million.

On Friday, Thalang police arrested 24-year-old Jirapat Samranrat and 24-year-old Premruedee Tiratantikul with 12 bags of crystal methamphetamine and 4,199 methamphetamine pills together with drug-making paraphernalia. Both of them were arrested at a house in the Srisunthorn subdistrict of Thalang.

On Saturday, Chalong police arrested 36-year-old Pairat Yaso in possession of 3,474 methamphetamine pills worth about Bt868,500 and 109.16 grams of crystal methamphetamine worth about Bt218,320. He was arrested in a house in Soi Hoysang in Chalong.

The arrest followed a routine police patrol by motorbike in Soi Thanuthep when officers saw a suspicious man on another motorcycle. He asked the man to stop for a search but the man fled on the motorbike. 

Police followed him to Soi Hoysang and saw him run inside a house. A police team encircled the house arrested Pairat with the drugs.
