Fire hits Phitsanulok school

Fire damaged a school in the Muang district of Phitsanulok province early on Wednesday.

Police said the fire started at the administrative building of Chalerm Kwan Sattree School in the downtown area at 4.30am.
Ten fire engines took about 30 minutes to put out the blaze. The entire building, including documents and equipment inside, was damaged. Among the destroyed documents were education loan contracts of students.
A security officer, Somjet Ketchuajin, 65, said he heard an explosion before fire started in a room of the building.
Police believe the fire was caused by a short circuit but forensic officials have yet to inspect the scene.
