Quilted blankets are essential school wear in northeastern Nong Bua Lamphu province these days.
The mornings are so cold that elementary-school children are taking blankets with them to keep warm in class.
The lingering cold spell has also seen schoolkids of both genders and all ages allowed to wear trousers instead of shorts and skirts.
