Flash floods, heavy winds in south, while north gets cold to very cold

The Thai Meteorological Department issued a warning of heavy rain and strong winds in southern provinces reaching from Songkhla to the southernmost provinces from Sunday until Monday as a result of the strong northeastern monsoon covering the Gulf and the South.

In its 9th announcement issued on Sunday morning, the forecaster warned people in Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang and Satun to brace for flash floods and generalised flooding due to the heavy rain.
People living in those provinces along the eastern coast were also warned of strong winds and high waves. Fishermen and boaters were also told to exercise special caution when venturing out in the Gulf and Andaman Sea during the two-day period due to rough seas with waves as high as three metres.
Meanwhile in northern and northeastern provinces, temperature will drop by 1-3 degrees Celsius Sunday and Monday as strong winds and cold weather looming over the regions as a result of a strong cold front from China. Mountains in both regions range from cold to very cold, with temperature expected to drop another 3-9 degrees Celsius.
People in the North and the Northeast were told to take care of their health and to keep abreast of announcements from the Thai Meteorological Department.
