His Majesty sends gifts to troops, police in deep South

His Majesty the King has had a privy councillor deliver 1,500 sets of New Year gifts to soldiers and police working in the three Southern border provinces.

Privy Councillor General Paiboon Khumchaya represented the King to hand out gifts at a ceremony held at the Internal Security Operations Command (Isoc) Area 4 inside the Sirindhorn fort in Pattani’s Yarang district at 11.30am on Wednesday.
Security personnel selected to receive the royal gifts came from 56 security agencies operating in the deep South, including the Isoc Area 4, the southern border patrol police command, the Naval Area 2 Command, The Peace Operations Centre, and the coordination centre on His Majesty’s initiative projects.
Before the gifts were handed out, Paiboon was briefed on the situation in the deep South at 10am by Fourth Army Area Commander Lt-General Piyawat Nakwanit.
The privy councillor also gave gifts from the King to representatives of police and soldiers recently injured in insurgency attacks, including Pol Lieutentant Yutthana Thepsathit and Sergeant Wissanu Muasanthad.
The privy councillor said the King had concerns for police and soldiers operating in the deep South.
