Police on Monday arrested four young men and seized a huge haul of illegal drugs at a Bangkok condominium.

The arrest was announced on Tuesday at the Metropolitan Police Bureau in a press conference chaired by the deputy police commissioner-general, Pol General Chalermkiart Sriworakhan.
Pol Maj-General Ruechakorn Jarachewut, deputy metropolitan police commissioner, told the press conference that the four had been arrested at the Aspire Condon on Sathorn-Taksin Road in Bangkok’s Jomthong area.
Police seized 370,400 methamphetamine pills, 13 kilograms of crystal meth, 37,780 ecstasy pills, 240 grams of heroin, a Honda car and six mobile phones from the suspects, he said.
Police had been monitoring the group for a while after receiving tip-offs that a gang was selling drugs in Bang Khun Thian district and nearby areas, he added.
The four suspects were identified as Phakphum Sodjaem, 31, Thanawat Chitcharoenyu, 22, Jitphanu Niamyaem, 22, and Chayarop Niamuyaem, 21.
Phakphum, the alleged gang leader, rented a room at the condominium for storing the drugs, Ruechakorn said.
When the four men arrived at the condominium at 4.30am on Monday, police emerged from hiding and searched their car, before arresting them, he explained.
Some of the drugs were found in the vehicle and the rest in the 18th-floor condominium.
