Surat Thani police arrested three alleged drug couriers and seized 99,980 methamphetamine pills early Tuesday morning.

The arrest was announced at a press conference on Wednesday held by Provincial Police Bureau 8 commissioner Pol Lt-General Surasak Yenprem, Surat Thani police chief Pol Maj-General Apichart Boonsriroj and Surat Thani Governor Wichawut Jinto.
The suspects were identified as Chayakorn Pichayakorn, 31, Suthee Onsuwan, 30, and Nattapong Limhoksee, 23.

Surasak said the suspects admitted that they had received the drugs in Bang Saphan district in Prachuap Khiri Khan to deliver to recipients in the lower Southern provinces. The recipients were reportedly supposed to inform them of the destinations by phone.
They said they had been paid Bt20,000 each to smuggle the drugs.
