Truck crashes into manned police booth in Nakhon Ratchasima

Deciding it was better to hit a police booth than several motorcyclists, a truck driver aimed his out-of-control 10-wheeler at the cop kiosk in Muang Nakhon Ratchasima on Monday morning, to the considerable horror of the policeman inside.

The truck hauling rice demolished one side of the booth before coming to a stop inside the compound of a mall selling construction materials.
Pol Senior Sgt Major Jaran Thukhokkuan, 44, was slightly injured but able to struggle out of his wrecked booth after the accident at the Lotus intersection in Tambon Hua Thalay.
Jaran was operating the traffic lights at the intersection when he heard the sound of braking and saw the truck coming towards him.
He had no time to flee and said he felt fortunate to have not been severely hurt.
His motorcycle, parked beside the booth, was a write-off, though.
Truck driver Waipoj Saensuk, 53, was taking the rice to a mill when he tried and failed to brake for a red traffic at the intersection.
Realising there were many motorcyclists ahead of him, he decided to swerve to the side.
