Bangkok fire stations on standby during Chinese New Year

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Governor Aswin Kwanmuang has ordered all 35 BMA fire stations and 12 substations to be on alert during the Chinese New Year.

Pol Colonel Thewanurat Anirutthathewa said the stations will be on standby from Tuesday throughout the Chinese New Year holidays.
Aswin added that the heightened fire watch will be especially intensified on Friday when people with Chinese ancestory will celebrate by taking outings.
Thewanurat said fire station officials will also monitor 35 risky spots where Chinese-descendants communities congregate or there are major shopping areas, including the Chao Pho Sua Shrine, the Odeon Roundabout, and Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel.
