A rescue team came to the aid of a two-year-old dog whose head got stuck in an iron gate in Phitsanulok’s Wang Thong district on Monday.

Burapa Rescue Centre was alerted and a team rushed to a house in Moo 8 of Tambon Wang Thong. They found a black dog, yelping in pain, with its head lodged between bars in the gate. Its mouth was bleeding from a broken fang after it bit the gate in an attempt to get loose.

Jiranun Srirapun, 17, the dog’s owner, waited in tears for the team to free the dog.
The rescuers used a large set of pliers to slowly widen the space where the dog’s head was stuck until it was able to wiggle free.
Jiranun said the dog was named Dam, meaning black in Thai, and she had just taken it under her care on Sunday.
The dog went missing on Monday morning, and she found it stuck in the gate. “I tried to pull him out but failed so I decided to alert the rescue centre. Please accept my thanks,” she told the rescue team with a big smile.
